About Rydal Engineering

Rydal Engineering Ltd was established in 2002 by Robin Dunnington following many years in consulting engineering and subsequently 12 years as Technical Manager of specialist design/build contractor Mero (UK) plc. Although he initially gained a firm background in civil engineering, he was later to develop a particular interest and expertise in large span structures, space frame systems, tensile structures and structural glazing.

In these days of developing technology, design teams have often sought the input of design/build specialists for complex structures and glazing. Rydal Engineering, with its particular skills and links to façade contractors, suppliers and installers, has been able to provide such a service, advising on design and procurement methods.

This work has included award winning projects like the refurbishment of historic buildings at Kings Cross – Central Saint Martins and the iconic air traffic control tower at Edinburgh Airport, and a wide variety of international projects and smaller local work in the North West.

The company also offers a unique range of modular systems for the exhibition and architectural market which are fully engineered and custom fabricated to suit individual structural requirements.

In summary, the workload is national, international and local. It includes private clients, contractors, churches and retail, exhibition, educational and government organizations. However both large and small projects are treated with the same attention to detail.
